Cool Christians are youth in grades 5-8.   We aim for a group wide event on an every other month basis. (The confirmation age youth do additional activities.)  We do try in have a service element in some of our activities.  This year’s activities include:

Second Saturday of Service

Starting in October we will be working with Humanitri’s Let’s Connect program to offer an opportunity for the entire family to join together on the second Saturday of the month for a day of service.  In October we will focus on hunger and will be packing food to be sent overseas.  The entire family is invited to participate.

Sky Zone

We will be venturing to Sky Zone in Chesterfield.  The exact date is still to be determined but it will likely be in October or November.  Youth are invited to join us for 90 minutes of jumping and fun.

Greeting Card Sunday

We will gather on the first Sunday in December to create Christmas cards to send to a local nursing home.  Additionally, each child will be able to make a card to give to their parents.  We encourage parents to join their child at this event.  Food is typically provided.

Ice Skating

 We invite the entire church to join us for a fun filled time on the ice.  Round up the whole family bring your friends and come join us on Sunday January 2^nd.  We will meet at the skating rink. 

Quake (Grades 6-8)

The Youth Quake is a gathering of 400 youth from the area and is held in a Downtown hotel.  We spend 2 nights at the hotel and have multiple large group events along with many choices for smaller group growth sessions.  The event is scheduled for the end of January.  Signups are due in October.

Easter egg Hunt

We encourage our older youth to help with the packing of the Easter Eggs along with helping us to run the Easter Egg Hunt.

Middle School Mission Trip 2011.

Youth currently in Grades 6-8.    New this year is a mission trip specifically for our middle school youth.  We will be loading up the vans at the end of July and heading out to Rapid City, South Dakota.  We will spend a week in service to Christ in the local Rapid City community.  We will work, sweat, possibly cry and serve others.  We will make new friends, connect with each other and be the hands and feet of God.  It will be hard week but may be life changing.  Please see Dan Johnson youth director for more information.
