Social Events
We are planning one of our best events of the year - an all day (11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) bus and train trip. The bus picks up passengers at Holy Cross at 11:30 a.m. The first stop will be two wineries, (Ste. Genevieve and Chalmette) for tours and wine tasting. Following the visits to the wineries, we motor on to Jackson, Missouri and board a train for a two-hour train ride which includes a full dinner. After dinner, we again board the bus and travel back to Holy Cross. The Social Activities Committee promises a full day of entertainment, fun and fellowship. Sit back, relax and leave the driving to us! The cost for the entire day, including the bus, train, tours and dinner is $45 per person. There will be a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Reservations and payment are required in advance
Square Dance The Social Activities Committee is organizing a Square Dance by popular request. The last square we had was in 2005. The event will be held Saturday evening, March 8, from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Holy Cross. We have Stan Mangogna as our “caller”, who will lead us through a wonderful evening of square dancing. Everyone should bring a snack to share. The Social Activities Committee will provide beverages. Dress in your casual square dance attire, but it’s recommended to wear some leather-soled shoes for swinging your partner on the carpeted floor. The cost is $6 per person. Tickets will be on sale by the Social Activities Committee in the church hallway following Sunday services. Look for the poster and sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Note: You don’t have to be a “seasoned” square dancer. This is a fun evening, for beginners and up. Chili Bingo The Social Activities committee invites the entire congregation, young and old to our famous Chili Dinner/Bingo party on Saturday January 26, 2008. This annual activity will be held in the church Fellowship Hall starting at 6:00 p.m. with a delicious Chili Dinner, prepared by members of the Social Activities committee.
