Worship Service Ministries

We have plenty of opportunities to minister at or for the worship service.  Please contact the church office if you are interesting in any of the following ministries:

Acolytes are trained confirmation students who participate at worship services.

Altar Guild consists of volunteers who maintain and care for the altar paraments and vestments for the altar and worship space.

Choir groups include adult choir, children's choir and praise choir.

Greeters offer a warm welcome to members and visitors as they enter and leave the church for worship services. 

Lay Assistants assist the pastor through reading lessons, offering prayers, and helping distribute communion during the worship service.

Praise Band plays energizing, up-beat music at the contemporary service.

Prayer Writers provide prayers for Sunday morning worship each week, writing and personalizing the church prayers for Holy Cross.

Sound Team serves the church at every public gathering by setting up, live-mixing, and tearing down the sound system. 

Sound Team "Roadies" help set up and taking down sound equipment, under the supervision of the director of music. 

Ushers assist the congregation during worship services, distribute bulletins and songbooks, collect the offering, assist with communion, and clean up pews after the service.  

Welcome Center Greeters are available at the welcome center before and after the worship service to seek out visitors, invite them to coffee, answer any questions, introduce them to Pastor and other members, and give tours of the facility.
