Caring Ministries

The ministries listed here are provided by the lay members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church through the Congregational Care Committee.    These services and ministries are provided to those needing care within our church family.  Please contact the church office if you would like more information on any of these ministries.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the church on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the New Fellowship Hall, located on the lower level.

Floral Visitors are members who are willing to deliver the floral arrangements from the altar on Sunday to a member who  is ill or convalescing - either at home, in the hospital, or at a nursing home.   This is just another way we let our members know of our love and care.

Funeral Services Assistance is provided by the S.O.S. Ministry.   It provides assistance with preparing a reception for family members and friends on the day of a funeral.

Greeting Card Ministry sends cards that offer comfort and shares the love of God with people in our congregation who need encouragement and support.   Cards are hand-made and personalized.  

Helping Hands Ministry meets on an as-needed basis to help with special artistry needs.   For example, sewing certificate envelopes for birth and death certificates for hospital nurseries or repairing the chrismons used to decorate the Christmas tree.

Mid-week Email Prayer Ministry forwards prayer requests to our member with email access.

The Mother's Center meets at the church on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the child-care room (lower level.   This is a group for mother's to meet and connect with each other.   Kids are always welcome.

Overeaters Anonymous meets at the church on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the New Fellowship Hall, located on the lower level.

Prayer Shawl Ministry - the women of the Prayer Shawl Ministry created prayer shawls for use by the ill, recovering, and grieving of our congregation, baby blankets for ill children via Project Linus, helmet liners and slippers for military personnel via the Ships Project, and mittens, caps, and scarves for the Mitten Tree.

Prayer Chain Ministry is a call chain that forwards prayer requests as quickly as possible to those who have committed to pray.

P.U.S.H. - Pray Until Something Happens is the acronym used by a special group of Holy Cross members.   These members are assigned to pray for a Confirmation student or a High School youth during the school year.

S.O.S. Ministry provides food for people who are ill, returning home from the hospital, or in a situation which requires help.

Support and Recovery Groups are available based on interest and need.  Many different small groups are available to foster personal growth and are offered on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
