Lenten Services and Dinners

Lent, which comes from the Germanic word for springtime, can be viewed as a spiritual
spring cleaning or “sprucing up”: a time for taking spiritual inventory and then
cleaning out those things which hinder our corporate and personal relationships with
Jesus Christ and our service to Him. Through Lenten disciplines of fasting, prayer,
reading the Scriptures, and service to others we become more like Christ. Holy Cross
invites you and your family to join us this Lenten Season. You’ll be invited to join an
on-line Bible discussion, be encouraged to find a prayer partner, join the Holy Cross
community for Wednesday night worship and dinners, bring your children to Wednesday
night Superbook Olympics, do service for others, and much more.

Our Lenten Dinners are also taking on a new twist this year, as we’ll be offering a new
program for our children when they finish eating! These intergenerational dinners will
provide many opportunities to sit down and relax with family and friends, make new
friends, help us with a servant project, and share your faith. Please join us at 6:00 p.m.
for dinner. Our children will then go to Superbook Olympics from 6:20 until 6:50. Then
we all worship together from 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the chapel.
