So why is it called "Men's" Breakfast? Because the men do the
cooking - and a darn good job of it too! So come one, come all
to our Men's Breakfast events!
We suggest a $5 donation for the
breakfast for adults. Kids and

Join us as Carl M. Bender, professor of
physics in arts and sciences at Washington University, reputed to be the
world’s leading expert on lower dimensional quantum field theories, amazes
you with his knowledge and expertise on black holes and other scientific
areas of interest, including global warming. A delicious breakfast will be
served with a suggested donation of $5 for adults. Students and children
will be served at no charge.
Angie Maue
Saturday, February 20

Our
speaker will be Angie Maue, whose son’s life was tragically ended by a young
drunk driver outside the St. Louis Zoo nine years ago. Angie will recount
the story of that day and the subsequent events that led her to forgive the
young man who killed her son. She will present a DVD and discourse on
underage drinking and driving. Angie especially likes to talk with high
school youth.
A hearty breakfast, prepared by the men’s
group, will precede the talk at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome to partake. A
small donation is requested of adults ($5 suggested), while children and
teens eat free of charge.
Charlie Brennan - KMOX

Charles Brennan, distinguished KMOX radio talk show host and a major St.
Louis personality will be the speaker at our "Community Breakfast".
Mr. Brennan's radio show has been on the air for over 20 years, mid-morning
weekdays. Also, he is a regular on KETC's "Donnybrook" where local St.
Louis issues are discussed.
Please indicate your attendance on the sign-up sheet located in the church
entry ways. As usual, the men's breakfast group will prepare a hearty fare.
A $5.00 donation is requested for adults; youth are invited at no charge.

30-minute video entitled “Hidden Fury”, a new video about the New
Madrid Earthquake Zone
and how it could affect up to two million square miles, including St.
Louis. This video reviews the geologic characteristics and tectonic nature
of our region.

Enjoy
a view of St. Louis from a unique perspective ! The video "Under St. Louis"
will be presented on Saturday, September 19. It walks you through the caves
and underground passageways that lie below the streets of St. Louis and
makes history come alive! Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. Adults are asked to
donate $5 per person. Children and teens are free. A sign-up poster is

ALL THAT JAZZ
- Our own Jim Schultz will open the Men's Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday,
May 16, with a video of "The Last of the Blue Devils," a delightful
collection of great jazz players, with such leaders as Joe Turner, Lester
Young, Dizzy Gilespie, Charlie Parker and you name them. Jim will share
stories about the performers. The menu will be jazz oriented.

Saturday, April 18, at 8:30 a.m. Jim's oldest son, John, a new West Point

Burgoon - Retired St. Louis County Police Department Detective
Joe Burgoon, a retired
detective of the St. Louis County Police Department, will speak at the Men's
Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21. He'll recount several cases he
has solved over the years.

Dr. Laila Gabrawy
Dr. Laila
Gabrawy, who was born in Egypt, will speak at the Men's Breakfast, 8:30 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 17. She will describe for us the workings of the Coptic
Church. In her work, she specializes in ophthalmology, attended medical
school at Kasr Elainu in Cairo University and participates in the Myrtle H.
Davis Comprehensvie Health practice in St. Louis. After the breakast Dr.
Gabrawy will speak about the history and teachings of the Coptic Church,
which is based on the teachings of St. Mark, who brought Christianity to
Egypt. There is a Coptic Church in the St. Louis area.
The menu for the breakfast will be fava beans, tomato sauce, cheeses and
spices, fruit cups, juices, cereals, milk and coffe. Kids and tens eat free.
We suggest $5 for each adult.
