NEXT ALPHA COURSE:
Our next Alpha program will begin on September 9th and meet every Wednesday from 6:15 pm to 8:30 p.m. until November 11th

BACKGROUND AND FUTURE PROGRAMS:
Some of you may have heard of the ALPHA course either in our congregation, from other churches, or from friends or family.

ALPHA is a 10 week course designed to teach the basics of the Christian faith. It has been used in churches of all major denominations including Lutheran churches.

Holy Cross will be offering our second ALPHA course in the fall of 2009.    There will be a Saturday retreat about three-fourths they way through it.

ALPHA provides an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening setting. The evening consists of a meal shared together, a video, and a table discussion.  Sample topics include:  Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? Why and how should I read the Bible? Why and how do I pray?

We want you to join us! Perhaps you are “seasoned in your faith.” Come and join in the discussions. Perhaps you’ve been a life long member of the church, but somehow you are feeling “fuzzy” in thinking about some of the questions of life. If you feel you are relatively new to the faith and want more answers, then join with us in ALPHA. If you have a friend or relative for whom you’ve been praying that they might have an opportunity to enter a faith community, ask them to join you for an ALPHA class. It is a perfect outreach opportunity.

We need participants, helpers for the set up and meal, a video “technician,” leaders, helpers and most of all, prayers from each of you that this new ministry might engage and excite our people for the Ministry of Jesus!
