Sunday Adult Forum

The Adult Forum is a casual Sunday morning study on a variety of topics, ranging from a study of an area of the Bible or theology to aging, depression, internet safety, etc.   It is held in the fellowship hall for all adults from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.   There is a nursery available for children under three years of age.

Dan Johnson will facilitate the video Ready to Forgive: An African Story of Grace.            

February 17

Mr. Sam David will be with us to share the plight of the greatly reduced Christian population in the Holy Land. He will also be bringing with him artwork made by his family and other Christian artists of Bethlehem. The sale of this artwork provides support for Palestinian Christians caught in the conflict of the Middle East.

February 24

Rev. Warren Crews, former Rector of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, will present a class based on the book Your Brain Goes to Church: Neuroscience and Congregational Life by Bob Sietze

March 2 Dr. Clint McCann, professor at Eden Seminary, will be with us to present a study of Psalm 82 – The Most Important Text in the Bible. Dr. McCann was the presenter at the Men’s Retreat last Spring.
March 9 The Psalms and Jesus Christ - Dr. Clint McCann will be with us for a second week to look briefly at several of the Psalms which the Gospel-writers used in telling the story of Jesus, especially Jesus’ passion.
March 16 The Last Supper – This video emphasized both Christian tradition and Jewish roots. It was filmed and dramatized at authentic locations in the Holy Land and Middle East.
March 23 No Class - Easter Sunday
March 30 Sarah Hoffstot, a counselor at Creve Coeur Counseling Associates, will give us some insight into Stress Reduction and Relaxation. She will discuss ways to identify and assess potential stress in one’s life, how to recognizing that stress affects us physically and emotionally, and give us some coping strategies to achieve stress reduction and relaxation.

April 13 Pastor Roy Moore - Book of Revelation - three week study. 
This often misunderstood and misinterpreted book provides a number of problems and questions for the reader. Written in symbols with vague portrayals of the kingdom of heaven, confusion comes easily. Down through the recent generations people have tried to unlock the meaning of the signs and words. Many theories abound in the Christian community. We will consider some of these interpretations and their meanings for today.
 
This first session will cover A Deeper Reality, based on chapter 1-5:14.
